Intertraffic Innovation Award nominees announced!

IntertrafficInnovationAward.jpgSmart and innovative thinking will be rewarded at the world's largest - and best attended - trade fair for the infrastructure, ITS traffic management, safety and parking sectors when the winners of the 2012 Intertraffic Innovation Awards will be revealed. An international jury has carefully and meticulously studied the candidates and after detailed analysis and intense deliberation has shortlisted 14 final entries. Sectoral awards will be presented in five categories: 'Infrastructure'; 'ITS Traffic Management'; 'Safety'; 'Parking'; and 'Smart Mobility'. And in addition to the Overall Winner Award, for the first time Intertraffic will also hand out an Urban Sustainable Mobility Award.

Smart Mobility Live Experience

smart-mobility-live-demonstration-lupo-EL.jpgWireless communication is used to regulate speed and distance between vehicles with the Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (C-ACC). The TU/e has successfully installed the C-ACC controller in a DAF truck. During Intertraffic the TU/e will demonstrate the DAF truck in collaboration with the Volkswagen Lupo EL research vehicle. As a striking duo they demonstrate cooperative driving where the truck automatically responds to the speed of the Lupo EL and the following distance is maintained.
