New EV Charging Station Distributor Signs With GE

Plug-In Vehicle Solutions announces it is a distributor for GE electric vehicle charging stations to commercial customers nationwide as an authorized national distributor through Gexpro Electrical Distribution. Plug-In Vehicle Solutions (PIVS) now provides complete ordering and purchasing opportunities for facility and fleet managers, parking lot owners and municipalities. Specifying engineers and architects in the green building industry will appreciate the depth of knowledge and breadth of applications available.
"Our clients look to us for a thorough understanding of their challenges in configuring and installing electric vehicle charging stations," said Plug-In Vehicle Solutions COO, Rick Stroud. "This new arrangement to distribute GE products through Gexpro will help Plug-In Vehicle Solutions to better serve our clients by providing them with the industry-leading products they seek while giving us a competitive advantage well into the future. PIVS will offer complete turnkey solutions from the distribution panel to the charging unit, to include the meter and conduit if needed. Partnering with our Contractors for installation closes the loop of a total turnkey offering to clients."

"We welcome the Plug-In Vehicle Solutions team. Their expertise and enthusiasm is critical as this industry addresses the growing need for an EV infrastructure to support the large-scale deployment of electric vehicles," says Gary Arnott, general manager of sales and global distribution, GE Energy Industrial Solutions. "Businesses across America are beginning to embrace the need for a viable EV ecosystem and early adopters will set the standards for implementing clean, green energy practices."

The GE DuraStation EV charging station, available now through PIVS, is a fast, easy-to-use, Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging solution. The GE DuraStation EV Charger delivers a full-cycle charge to a 24kWh battery in only 4-8 hours, whereas plugging an EV into a standard electrical outlet would require 12-18 hours to provide the same level of charge. RFID provides management reporting for the smooth operation and cost controls required by fleets, and commercial applications. The DuraStation can be configured for dual vehicle charging, in pedestal, wall, or pole mount applications.
