APCOA - Pioneers of innovation in Norway

APCOA Parking (UK) has collaborated with its sister company in Norway to pioneer the launch of three new innovative pre-booking engines for state-owned Norwegian airport operator Avinor.

APCOA was awarded the major contract to deliver five new pre-booking engines in September 2013.  The first three of these officially went live at Bergen, Stavanger, and Trondheim airports on 1 November 2013 (phase one).  This will be followed by further two airports, which are due to go live in March/April 2014 (phase two).

With only eight weeks to deliver the booking engines from inception through to completion, APCOA’s e-Solutions’ team have again demonstrated their ingenuity when it comes to performance, business intelligence and quality of management information (MI).

In-line with Avinor’s original brief, APCOA has provided the Nordic operator with three bespoke booking engines; comprising financial reconciliation and connectivity to local parking equipment.  This is further complemented with detailed MI reporting and yield management to help gauge customer trends, and to introduce a variable pricing strategy during peak and off-peak times.

“While some customers’ value price over convenience, others favour location, so effective parking management, customer relationship management (CRM), and pricing are key to achieving optimum car parking performance.  Our intelligent online booking engines, therefore, will enable Avinor to gauge customer behaviour during high and low season to improve conversion rates,” added Morphew.
