Commend International Doubles Production Capacity at Salzburg Headquarters

Following two months of installation and training, Intercom technology market leader Commend International today kicked off line production with a new manufacturing facility. The state-of-­the­‐art manufacturing machinery enables the previous production capacity to be doubled.

Commend International’s full order books have seen the existing SMD (Surface­‐Mounted Device) reach its capacity. To sustain its ability to guarantee its customers the industry’s best delivery times, Commend International invested in a new SMD assembly facility to complement its existing production capacity. As of now, this will allow Commend International to more than double its previous production output. “It was clear already during the preparatory stage that this € 1.7m investment was a perfect decision,” comments Wolfgang Huemer, Head of Production at Commend International. “Our outstanding quality standards have earned us a high reputation among customers, and the new SMD facility allows us to raise the bar even further.”

Today’s commissioning of the new machinery was preceded by the delivery and initial startup in August, followed by extensive staff trainings and programming of the equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing of Commend’s range of products. “The new facility is state-of­‐the-‐art technology for semiconductor manufacturing, which makes it ideal for perfecting our production planning. Besides, it has allowed us to switch back to regular daytime shifts, which ensures favourable working times for our staff,” says Huemer.
