DESIGNA: 2014

March:

INTERTRAFFIC Amsterdam trade fair "WeAreConnected. AreYou?"

Taking this as its theme, DESIGNA Verkehrsleittechnik GmbH and its partners, Axess, Ilogs and Finnpark together presented the future of parking management at the INTERTRAFFIC trade fair Amsterdam from 25 to 28 March. Visitors were treated to a look behind the scenes and experienced flexible product solutions, new web and app services and the many benefits of our ASP Private Cloud Service, which has now been successful for over six years, “live” and in person. The entire world of parking on all channels, easily and at the click of a button.

INTERTRAFFIC Amsterdam takes place every two years and is regarded as the leading trade fair in the traffic and transport industry.

April:

The new SLIMPARK Pay PRO pay station

DESIGNA is extending its SLIMPARK system with Pay PRO, a pay station that can not only accept bank notes but can also give them out, thanks to the built-in banknote recycler. An added benefit that pays off for car park operators, not only in reducing work – coin boxes don't need to be filled up anywhere near as often – but also in growing customer satisfaction.

As the big brother to the SLIM Pay, the Pay PRO is particularly well-suited to the needs of customers in the hotel industry and also to payment behaviour in Central and South America and parts of Asia, where banknotes are heavily used due to the currencies there.

May:

Straight to the car park, with no detours – the new “Guide” from DESIGNA

Since May 2014, the DESIGNA "Guide" has been guiding customers quickly and reliably to free parking spaces in places like Frankfurt Airport. Car par banners undertake the traffic routing through the car park. Green arrows show the way to free parking spaces. If a red cross appears, however, there are no more free parking spaces in that section.

July:

Cardiff Airport: New parking management system

Red and grey are the colours of Cardiff Airport in Wales. And these very colours are now repeated in the new parking management system installed by DESIGNA at the airport. Every day since the beginning of July, ten ABACUS Blue Edition Generation entrances and twelve exits have been processing all the vehicles belonging to airport customers, visitors and employees. To increase customer satisfaction and ultimately also to increase throughput, the terminals feature the ability to read the tickets four ways, as well as integration of a chip & pin solution at the exits for credit card payments.

In addition, TFT colour screens on the automatic pay stations provide all information in Welsh, English, Spanish and German.

September:

The new 10 euro note is coming

On the front is an archway in the Romanesque style, whilst the hologram and watermark depict the goddess Europa. This is the new 10 euro note, which has been in the wallets of Europeans since the autumn. Software updates or conversion work had to be done on existing customer terminals so that the new bank notes could also be processed by car park operators.

A change that even now demands a high degree of flexibility, energy and dedication from both our customers and our customer service.

November:

Frankfurt Airport equipped with new parking management systemDESIGNA logo

In a pan-European tender process, at the end of 2012 DESIGNA Verkehrsleittechnik GmbH was awarded the contract for refitting the parking management system at Frankfurt Airport. Now, scarcely two years later, DESIGNA has been able to complete the work in Terminals 1 and 2.

Approximately 1,200 terminals in the latest ABACUS technology were built in just 7 months while business carried on as usual. The systems are working perfectly. And there's more: over the next few years, DESIGNA will also provide reliable support for the future of Frankfurt Airport with premium-quality service and product solutions.

Visitors to Germany's largest airport have around 14,000 parking spaces available to them; another 15,000 private parking spaces are reserved for season parkers and airport staff.
