Parking is a Breeze at Houston’s City Centre with INDECT’s Ultimate Parking Guidance System: The UPSOLUT

INDECT USA, the parking industry’s leading provider of parking guidance systems, announces the latest installation of their premium multi-function, camera-based sensor at the Midway City Centre in Houston, Texas.

City Centre is a multi-award winning, up-scale retail, restaurant and entertainment hub in the heart of Houston. Designed as an elegant self-contained community, the centre also boasts a flagship urban fitness facility, two office towers, 655 residential homes and a 255-room luxury hotel.

The City Centre experience is one of refined quality and sophisticated elegance,” said Dale Fowler, President of INDECT USA. “Naturally they wanted a parking guidance system that matched their high standards and we are proud to be chosen as the best on the market.

INDECT’s premium UPSOLUT camera-based sensors have been installed in all three onsite parking garages, monitoring a total of 6000 individual spaces.” said Fowler.

The extended LED lights make it easy for drivers to spot vacant spaces from several hundred yards away. Different colors indicate each space’s status. Green for available, red for occupied, blue for ADA and flashing orange for reserved.

City Centre has chosen to provide premium paid parking on the first level of each garage where there is easy access to restaurants, retailers and the plaza and free parking on all other levels.” he said.

Matrix signs have been installed at the entrance to each parking garage with rotating information messages regarding LED color definitions, capacity counts and directions to alternative garages when full.

Prior to the installation of parking guidance, management noticed that Garage 3 was often empty, while the two other garages were routinely at capacity.  Tucked away between two smaller side streets, Garage 3 was not an obvious choice for visitors and often incorrectly assumed to be full.

Now that all garages are connected on one server, drivers can be easily directed to any available space no matter where they are in the centre. This is especially helpful on the weekends when visitors flock to the centre to enjoy the live music performances in the plaza.

This latest installation is the result of another successful collaboration with PGS, the region’s leading parking guidance system distribution and installation team. Locally based in Richmond Texas, PGS have installed INDECT parking guidance systems in more than 30 garages across America and have a depth of product knowledge that is unmatched.
