Indianapolis Airport Authority announces new parkIND brand, previews upcoming improvements for customer parking

- Indianapolis, US

The Indianapolis Airport Authority’s (IAA) continuous efforts to enhance the customer experience at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) – recently recognized as 2012’s best airport in North America by Airports Council International – are extending to its parking program, including the connected Terminal Garage.

IAA is launching a brand, parkIND, to promote consistent communications and marketing for its on-airport parking options. The new logo provides parking customers a clear, recognizable distinction for selecting connected, safe, and secure on-airport parking options. The brand symbolizes IAA’s customer-focused parking operations, which will include enhancements to be announced later this summer.

We focus each and every day on providing our customers and passengers the best possible travel experience, and parking is an important part of that,” said Mike Wells, president of the IAA Board of Directors. “Our new parkIND brand conveys the convenience afforded only by the connectivity of parking at IND and helps our customers distinguish what we intend to provide as the most convenient, best parking options for their business and leisure travel needs.

IAA’s first use of the new parkIND brand came during the spring break travel period, when it was used for targeted online advertising promoting a special offer in the Terminal Garage. The parkIND brand will be used for additional marketing efforts as well as to promote and communicate enhancements to parking operations.

The parkIND brand aligns perfectly with the trusted Indianapolis Airport Authority and Indianapolis International Airport brands, extending the spirit of North America’s best airport throughout its parking options and a commitment that they will complement the world-class experience we provide customers and travelers inside the terminal,” said Robert Duncan, executive director of the IAA.

As part of the enhancement for customers, the IAA will also continue offering a flat $9-per-day rate not subject to any additional taxes or fees for a simplified and consolidated surface lot parking product. With customer surveys indicating that many passengers felt there was insufficient product differentiation between the Economy and Long-term lots, starting today, the Long-term Lot will be closed to new vehicles as it is transitioned to non-customer parking and overflow situations on the rare occasions when the Economy Lot is full.

Parking in the Terminal Garage and Economy Lot will continue to be fully available, and additionally, the Terminal Garage will soon offer enhanced valet options, including the traditional (current) valet model and a new, self-park option that allows customers access to the same close-in proximity to the terminal as the valet service.

IAA parking, which already includes around-the-clock assistance to help customers locate lost vehicles and escort solo travelers to their cars safely, as well as free jump starts and tire inflation, is in the process of developing additional improvements to be announced later this summer.
