Parkeon Selected Through MAPC Collective Procurement

Parkeon’s meters

Parkeon, a global leader in urban mobility solutions for the parking and transit industries, has been chosen by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (MAPC) as an approved vendor for multi-space parking meter systems. Through a collective procurement for parking payment systems, conducted in partnership with the Massachusetts Association of Regional Planning Agencies, any municipality in Massachusetts can contract directly with Parkeon instead of going through an individual procurement process.

Parkeon parking systems can be found all over New England. Municipalities utilizing Parkeon multi-space parking meter systems include Boston, Gloucester, Medford, Northampton, Taunton, Waltham, Hartford, New Haven, and Dover. Parkeon’s solar powered multi-space meters are designed for all climates, and have stood up for over a decade through harsh New England winters.

Through this procurement, municipalities can choose from a wide range of Parkeon products including the latest model, the StradaPAL which features a 7” full color display screen and weather proof capacitive keyboard.

Municipalities can also take advantage of a host of Parkeon CLOUD services such as City news, localized coupons, text reminders, and citation payment at the meter.

MAPC went through a thorough evaluation process including a Request for Information, Request for Proposals, and vendor interviews. The evaluation committee was made up of representatives from municipalities across Massachusetts.

“We are extremely excited about becoming an approved vendor by MAPC,” said Jim DuFon, Vice President of Sales at Parkeon, Inc. “This collective procurement will allow municipalities to improve their parking operations quickly with a quality parking system that has gone through an exhaustive vetting process.”
