OpenCard payment for Parking in Prague

Parkeon and its partners, Activ and Vinci, have installed and activated all contactless readers to accept the Prague OpenCard on Parkeons Pay and Display terminals.

OpenCard is a smart-card designed for Prague residents and visitors. It is issued by Prague City Hall. The aim of the project is to establish new means of communication between the City and its citizens, and more convenient access to the services provided by the City.

The card can be used for smart card payment of parking fees in different paid parking zones of Prague. It carries prepaid electronic parking vouchers and can also be used as a public transport season ticket for travelling. In addition, Opencard gives access to other services, such as libraries.

Benefiting from strong technical partnership with Haguess, who delivers the OpenCard contactless card solution, and Prague city council, Parkeon has successfully developed this second installation of a contactless card application, following on first implementations in Poland.

 

Today in Prague, 300 Stelio terminals with GPRS technology are upgraded with this on-line, e-purse solution combined with ParkFolio back-office connectivity.
