Peek Traffic and Parkeon announce rapid market acceptance of new Parking Systems

Peek Traffic and Parkeon announce rapid market acceptance of new Parking Systems, with increased functionality and lower ownership costs, in the Danish parking market.
parkeon.gifCopenhagen, Denmark - Peek Traffic Denmark and Parkeon today announced their commitment to build on recent successes in the Danish parking market by continuing to offer attractive, market-driven solutions, within the area of parking guidance and on-street systems, which cannot be matched by the competition.

Within the last 12 months, Peek has successfully implemented citywide parking guidance in Arhus and Fredricksberg with their new breed of software, based on open standards, called IntelliGuide City. Parkeon’s Stelio Pay & Display (P&D) parking machines have been successfully installed on-street in Fredricksberg and DK Parkering. Within the last month, additional Stelio orders have been secured for the City of Svendborg.

“Our new breed of IntelliGuide City software, which offers web-based, user-friendly GUI interfaces and real-time data status, is proving very attractive to our customers. The system is independent of the installed base of parking systems and sign hardware, and can be hosted either in the client network or externally by Peek. This differentiates Peek from the competition,” explains Casper Olesen, Peek Denmark account manager.

In the On-Street market, the Peek-Parkeon value proposition of Stelio with Parkfolio-IntelliMeter software is offering new levels of service and functionality. Parkeon’s Parkfolio centralization software allows the City to monitor the activity of the P&D machines remotely and also view alarms – e.g. payment collections, parking indicators and paper ticket status - generated by the Stelios on any PC. Critical information is sent in real-time to operational staff via the web, e-mail or SMS. The IntelliMeter software enables the City to process credit card and petrol card payments and obtain authorizations in real-time from financial risk systems. This removes the need to check transactions against potentially out-of-date, ‘off-line’ 'black list' records in the P&D machines.

"The decision to select the Stelio-Parkfolio-IntelliMeter system and purchase real-time functions from Peek reflects our commitment to improving the operational efficiency of our parking department and reducing the risks to parking revenues, thanks to real-time authorization. We hope the new levels of functionality offered will enable Svendborg to reduce the life-time cost of its installed base of P&D machines and provide best possible service to the citizens and guests in Svendborg", said Hans Villekjar, City of Svendborg.

The system enables municipality financial and senior management teams to view all card payments, in real-time, via a secure, encrypted web browser. Other functions include real-time refunds and financial reconciliation, blocking of high-risk cards and the easy adoption of new card acquirers and motorist loyalty programs. Financial settlements, to the City’s account, are made in days, rather than weeks.

"Our goal is to deliver new solutions that improve the operational efficiency for city parking departments, whilst reducing the overall lifetime costs of ownership. IntelliMeter will enable Danish customers to reduce their financial risks and improve working capital effectiveness," said Curt Selestam, Head of Nordics, Peek.

"We now have Parkfolio centralization software installed in over 22,000 P&D machines in Europe and North America. Our customers are delighted with its performance,” explains Lionel Vernerie, Head of Marketing On-Street Services, Parkeon. “We are very excited about launching this software with Peek in Denmark, where the early feedback from customers has been very positive."
