The new parking pay & display terminals of Madrid will be from Parkeon

Madrid - The City Council of Madrid and EYSA, DORNIER and SETEX-SUFI, the 3 parking operators managing the 3 on-street parking zones of the capital, have granted their confidence to Parkeon to almost double the number of Stelio terminals currently installed, covering almost 88,000 parking spaces in all the city.
parkeon.gifAfter the beginning of first deployment phase in November 2002, Parkeon has converted PRS (Parking Regulation Service) into a real success: a decrease of over 90,000 cars entering in the city every day together with an improvement of parking rotation (4 vehicles per day in the non-resident spaces and 1.2 vehicles per day for the residential ones). This is matching main on-street parking regulation objective from City of Madrid.

Stelio terminals strong reliability is key to establishing citizen’s acceptance to the service. In addition P&D terminal design Integrates well in the city where they are already a familiar sight. Parkeon’s continuous efforts in R&D (investments represent 8% of its total turnover) have helped to solve parking and traffic issues in Madrid by means of the centralized parking management ParkfolioO.

These terminals are exclusively powered by solar energy, integrating GSM/GPRS data centralisation, smart card technology with MMS chip for data encoding, and digital electronic lock for coins collection.
