Worlds leading parking systems manufacturer expands its operations in Australia

Parkeon - the worlds leading manufacturer of parking space management solutions - has appointed a new partner, Sydney-based Australian Parking And Revenue Control Services (APARCS), to develop its business in Australia.
In addition, Parkeon is opening an Australian subsidiary to support APARCS, as they start to service new and existing customers. From a base - also in Sydney - Parkeon will have the necessary infrastructure in-country to support a range of complete parking management solutions, e.g. Pay-by-Space, Pay-by-Cell and Pay & Display, plus the associated connectivity and management services. These will include contact and contactless card-based payment solutions for parking and transport applications.

The opening of a subsidiary in Australia not only reflects our commitment to our partner but also the importance of the market for P&D solutions on the continent, says Yves Chambeau, Parkeons President.

Parkeon has a 60% share of the global market for on-street parking systems. With an installed base of 140,000+ machines, the Companys parking terminals are a familiar sight in over 3,000 cities across 40 countries. It employs over 850 people worldwide and generated revenues of A$217.5 million in 2005. Parkeons manufacturing facility has a production capacity of 2,000 Pay & Display units per month.

I see no reason why our partnership should not evolve so that Parkeon becomes the dominant supplier of on-street parking systems in Australia, as it is in the rest of the world, says Phillip Verity, APARCS Managing Director. We will be able to make an official announcement regarding the winning of our first significant tender for Parkeon shortly.
