Ökoglobe award for Swarco Traffic Systems
The annual Ökoglobe Award is the first international environmental award for the mobility industry. It was initiated in 2007 by environmental artist HA Schult and is jointly awarded by DEVK Versicherungen and the ACV Automobil-Club Verkehr in cooperation with the ÖkoGlobe institute of Duisburg-Essen University.
In the category Sustainable Infrastructure, the joint project EnergieParken has now been awarded with the second place. Swarco Traffic Systems GmbH is part of the company consortium behind EnergieParken and thus underlines its environmental awareness and innovative drive. The objective of EnergieParken is to offer a comprehensive infrastructure for the charging of e-cars. It combines parking metre and charging functionalities to provide a practicable and sophisticated real-world solution. EnergieParken is an important step towards green mobility. It stimulates the use of hybrid cars or e-cars, which help reduce environmental pollution in urban areas.
