More light but with less power. The city of Münster, Germany plans to achieve this goal by installing 980 new LED parking garage lights. Thanks to this state of the art lighting technology they will be able to save approximately 250,000 kilowatts of energy which is equivalent to 140 tons of CO2 per year.
WBI and Rentalite, a Dutch technology institution specialized in garage lighting solutions, have joined hands to work on this project. The new LED fixtures will be installed in the parking garages Bahnhofstraße and Bremer Platz. They will replace the energy consuming fluorescent garage lighting that is currently used, such as the T8 and T12 tubes.
Our expectations are high says Dr. Henning Müller-Tengelmann, the commercial Director of the City of Münster. He shall be overseeing this highly innovative project. Our intention is to have high energy saving scores with this project.
