Opening of PowerGo’s Fastest Charging Location in Denmark

The new fast charging location is part of the roll-out of a well-developed charging infrastructure in Denmark, adopted with the "Infrastructure Plan 2035".

On the 8th of January, PowerGo and the Danish Road Directorate opened PowerGo’s fastest charging location of Denmark. In Haderup, PowerGo has installed eight fast charging points. This is part of PowerGo’s roll-out of a large public charging network throughout Denmark.

The charging location was officially opened by Thomas Danielsen, Minister of Transport, who charged an electric vehicle (EV) at one of the fast chargers. Speeches were given by Thomas Danielsen, Anders Vigen (Project Manager at PowerGo), and Dorte West (mayor of Herning).

The fast chargers can be found in Haderup, a town in Central Jutland. The charging stations are located at the parking lot at the corner of Tjørnevej and Herningvej near route 34, one of the main roads in Denmark. The four chargers each deliver 480 kilowatts (kW), with a maximum output of 240 kW per charging point. This means that each charger allows two EVs to charge simultaneously with 240 kW. The fast chargers are equipped with LCD screens, where users can easily access information about charging and payment.

Expanding the Danish Public Charging Network

The new fast charging location is part of the roll-out of a well-developed charging infrastructure in Denmark, adopted with the "Infrastructure Plan 2035". The Danish Road Directorate has issued a tender for this purpose, which is one of the seventeen tenders that PowerGo won in Denmark.

Easy and Sustainable Charging

The PowerGo chargers allow EV drivers to charge with 100% certified renewable energy. PowerGo uses the EV charging platform of Spirii to deploy, manage, and operate the charging points. Through dynamic pricing, PowerGo offers fair and transparent charging tariffs, based on the current hourly electricity price. The PowerGo Charge app gives users insights into the prices for the upcoming hours and gives easy access to charging and payment methods.

PowerGo has won seventeen tenders for the installation of public charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in Denmark so far, including locations in Haderup, Thisted, Ikast-Brande, Randers, Glostrup, Haderslev, Naestved, Rudersdal, Varde, Ballerup, Hillerød, Vallensbaek, Gentofte, Vejen, Vejle and Gladsaxe. As we speak, PowerGo is installing both AC and DC chargers in most of these municipalities.
